Cover Reveal: CONJURE

I'm thrilled to be part of the cover reveal brigade for Lea Nolan's awesome CONJURE!!
Here is the glorious:

About the book:

CONJURE
... Be careful what you search for…

Emma Guthrie expects this summer to be like any other in the South Carolina Lowcountry--hot and steamy with plenty of beach time alongside her best friend and secret crush, Cooper Beaumont, and Emma’s ever-present twin brother, Jack. But then a mysterious eighteenth-century message in a bottle surfaces, revealing a hidden pirate bounty. Lured by the adventure, the trio discovers the treasure and unwittingly unleashes an ancient Gullah curse that attacks Jack with the wicked flesh-eating Creep and promises to steal Cooper’s soul on his approaching sixteenth birthday.
When a strange girl appears, bent on revenge; demon dogs become a threat; and Jack turns into a walking skeleton; Emma has no choice but to learn hoodoo magic to undo the hex, all before summer—and her friends--are lost forever.
Wouldn't you love to win an ADVANCED copy??? Yes, yes you would.

Discharged!!!

Baby Deadly is ready to come home!!! We're so excited!!! Currently wrapping up the sweet bundle of laughs and danger in preparation for its first glimpse of the world.

I've said it all along but I must say again: THANK YOU!!! This book had a long and often puzzling journey, and just when we thought the battle was over, we learned there was yet one more challenge to overcome. Sincere thanks to everyone who supported this story from its first "use these twelve words in a scene" beginning all the way to its printed, bound, and headed to a library near you end.

...or is it the end? Friends, I don't know if my heart or my nerves could take another experience like this one. But they do say you forget the pain, don't they? Who knows?  Meanwhile, check back tonight for pictures of Deadly home at last!!

And... thank you.

Look Who Gained Some Weight!!!

I'm so excited! Look who's gained enough weight to join the other kids in the nursery:

How wonderful is this? I can't tell you how relieved we all are at Chez McAndrews. Your kind words and support while we waited and watched, your offers of cooked dinners so we could make visiting hours and not starve to death, your willingness to babysit the other book children constantly underfoot...it's just meant the world to us. Thank you!
More good news is just around the corner, I'm sure of it!

Waiting

You'd think being a writer I would be good at waiting. And in fact, I generally am. This one's tough though. Knowing little Deadly is just out of reach, just a matter of time, makes it hard to keep my mind off the clock - or the calendar, as the case may be, since we know growing a book is not an overnight process.
But even I - a patient writer - can get a little anxious. This morning I was so eager for visiting hours I arrived entirely too early. Now I'm stuck waiting. Again. And this is not a comfortable place to wait.

Oh sure. The chairs look all wide and welcoming. But there's NO support and you're not allowed to eat or drink here. I mean, hello? Does no one in this place understand that many writers are caffeine-dependent? Plus. No cell phones. So no constant checking to see if my agent emailed with A Phenomenal Offer.

So I'm holed up in the little coffee shop, waiting for the magic moment when the curtains open on the nursery and I can gaze through the window at little Deadly. Until then, I'm enjoying the writers' breakfast of champions and working a little fiction magic to keep my mind occupied.

As always, thanks for all the good thoughts and kind words. Nice to know so many people are pulling for Deadly.

Deadly Farce is Born

After a long, long, long, long, LONG time, after close calls and false labors, my humorous mystery DEADLY FARCE has finally arrived. I'm so happy and proud. All this time people kept asking, are you hoping for a hardcover or a paperback? And you know, I was telling the truth when I said it didn't matter, as long as the book arrived at a healthy weight.

As usual, I should have been a bit more specific with the Universe.

DEADLY FARCE did indeed greet the world at a healthy weight...for a paperback. Since Baby Deadly is a hardcover, there's going to be a bit of a delay before we're able to bring our little bundle home. But at least we have this blog to be able to track its progress. Here it is today, resting comfortably:

Be assured little baby Deadly is receiving round the clock care from dedicated professionals carrying clipboards, wearing caps, and pushing things on wheels. And until we get the approval to bring baby home and allow friends, family, and strangers to hold the precious bundle, we'll be keeping you up to date on this blog.
Thank you all, so very much, for your constant support and friendship during this long road.
Hugs from the nursery,
jen
